Those tab's commonly break off. Problem is that Graham makes them so they can be bent to shape to accomodate various fitting positions, but the fact that they can be bent makes them prone to break.

I removed them altogether from mine and had an much tougher Alloy bracket set-up added. Only cost me a little. It's a great cooler apart from that.
