Default Help needed RE: USB memory stick

Been given a 64meg memory stick by a company at one of our exhibitions.

Its recognised as "Prolific USB Flash Disk USB Device" and when I right click on it and go to properties, windows does in fact recognise it as 64meg with 14meg used.

However, I keep getting "cycle redundancy error" or words to that effect, thus I'm guessing it has a type of protection that is used on these devices nowadays.

Is there anyway I can reset this device, and get it working normally?

Tried formatting within windows and DOS and gives an error.

Any help greatly appreciated!
