Interesting, this is good timing - was just asking on Pistonheads about exactly the same thing and got pointed here for expertise.
Reading the guide PPC mag did on the 24v engines and how they drop straight into Sierras got me thinking about this - Wardy (or anyone for that matter) is the conversion as easy with a Capri? The article gave the impression that it drops straight in on XR4 mounts?
This has got me thinking, would therefore the engine in this for example:

Drop painlessly into XR4 mounts on something like this:

Or not? This newer might be the wrong gen of Scorpio, in which case would the engine from this work? Or ar both the same?

I may have missed loads here. Is there a guide anywhere or writeup by anyone who's done this conversion? Theres just something about a tatty Capri with a 200bhp 3ltr modern 24v in it for less than a grand all in that appeals, bure I'm sure I've missed loads out and would appreciate the combined passsionford knowledge setting me straight
Too much time on eBay does this to a man. I'm keen to learn about the oily stuff, and I reckon a cheap winter project may be the way forward. But is this too ambitious..
