1 you really dont wanna get yourself involved if they mates of yours, except tell them BOTH if they got problems THEY need to sort em one way or another
2 In honesty even if the bird is "playing" about just online not the end of the world, maybe her bloke should keep her "amused" so she dont have to
3 No matter whats been happening online, she HAS done stuff online she dont want him to know about, whether that be just saying how she aint happy with her guy, then that in my book still puts her in the wrong, she aint so perfect if she cant tell him so he can work at being better for her if he is a decent guy, and if he aint then well again that there problem.
4 If it is the just talking about him behind his back then maybe it BETTER he see's it then she could just say she new what he was doing and thought it was a good way of letting him know without actually talking to him, cos if she as "shy" and unconfrontational as you say he will know she is and MAY believe her
