There are many benafits to it and I cant see any down sides if done correctly, But with all the best bits ie Pistons/Rods/Crank allow nearly £3300+vat, If you shopped around you could get it cheaper but debate'able if it would be as strong,
but it may be strong enough it could be enough for what you are looking for.
