The above should work, just hold the master key, next to the cowling, or better still take cowling off, as if I understand it you will not be able to insert it and turn as wrong key now with lock change.
Red masters can be reset at dealers if this does not work, I had one red key supplied and programmed, + two black keys, all in about £60 from memory.
