we run around 80 vans, 5 days a week
most of these vans will cover between 1000 and 1500 miles a week (with the mileage per van ranging from between 150,000 and 186,000 miles over a 3 year lease) so you can see how much we'll be forking out extra
and, because they give shitty mileage anyway, we get probably 250 miles to a 50 litre tank from the connects and between 350 and 400 miles per 80 litre tank for the vito's (give or take 10 litres per tank per van) and you can see how much prices are going up
and we've got a £6,000,000 per year budget
5.5 miles per litre of fuel
1 litre = extra 3p
so for us it equals around a £1.50 increase per tank
spread that cost over 3 years and it gives us an extra costing of around £900 over 3 years
that's assuming prices will stay as they are
so spread over the total fleet that's an extra £72,000
and that's just the vans, what about the fleet of cars we run? mostly deisels as well? every nurse has one and everyone in manegement upwards has one so that's another 4-500 cars to add to the equation
and all of a sudden, it's closer to half a million quid over 3 years
again, gordon brown, you are a cunt
