What a fukkin joke some of you so called intelligent people are, you have no idea what is gong on in the world you live in... you have a mind set of how a posty acts/looks, and as far as you are concerned thats gospel...

As already stated, despite what you ignorant fucks think the actual wage argument is very low on the list...

Other little titbits they intend forcing on the workforce include, being forced to work a reduced week during quiet periods (mid summer)... for instance Coming in on a monday and being told your only allowed 3 days work that week, and then during the heavy period having to work a 50+hour 6 day week, with no overtime. They are reserving the right to give you 24hrs notice on that aswell. Would you be happy to do that in your job, irrespective of what your paid? (again money is NOT the issue there)

The dreaded Door 2 door (basically the sh1te you get every week that goes in the bin) we laughingly get paid extra to deliver those on average it's 1.5p per item - normally there are 3 per household, so that works out at say 4.5p per house, we are going to be forced to deliver anything upto 6 items per house a week, and the payment that we receive is being included in our (below inflation) 2.5% offer. (again I’m sure many of you guys get productivity bonuses etc? imagine being then told that you have to include that productivity in your regular job and hey fuk being payed for it!!) and before you go off on one saying we get extra – half the time they “forget” to pay it for weeks on end.

As from next week, most of the offices are starting anything upto an hour later than they used to, but by law we are supposed to have all mail delivered by 3pm, and yet we are expected to do the same job by basically working all day, and then taking out dinner entitlement at the end of the shift, so for instance, instead of starting at 6.30, and finishing at 2.30 with a lunch break, I will now have to start at 7.30 and finish 2.30, and then take my dinner when I finish my round, or in other words, I dont get a Dinner hour... Ok that ‘may’ sound paetty… But I’m sure most of you have a dinner hour?

That is just the tip of the Iceberg, there is far far more than Royal mail is making it out to be. Dont believe the hype.

I'm sorry but it’s very very nieve, to think any other company would do a better job. The mail that comes thru your door is delivered at a loss, and for that single reason 80% of all UK mail will always be delivered by Royal mail, the problem is that eventually 50% of the mail will be collected from large users by a third party, ie:TNT (dutch national carrier) Dutchepost (german national carrier) and lots of smaller companies such as UK mail, they can collect the mail from the large users and they can undercut royal mail, they can then take the mail to a royal mail sorting office and we have to deliver it (at a loss) there is NO profit what so ever in delivering the mail, especially the mail you and I send thru the post. All the "competition" do is the middle bit you dont see... You may find in Large Cities the competition may deliver business post due to the logistics (the other 20%), but normal everyday mail? I'm affraid your stuck with royal mail, and as long as the government allow the unfair "competition" the service will deteriate, until eventually the only people employed by Royal mail will be Immigrants etc, that dont give a fuk about the wage, conditions etc or indeed the job

I could go even deeper into this topic, but i'll not bore you.

All I would say is dont blame the posty, blame the EU and British Government.

And one final point… for those of you that think we are lazy!! If anyone want’s to join me on an ‘average’ day I carry appox 100kg of mail and I cover approx 4 miles. What do you do?
