they ain't striking for their pay, they are striking because of the changes to their terms and conditions
it's like my job, i get a basic salary with no overtime so i shouldn't be working right now because i'm not getting paid for it, but i kew that when it took the job on, and besides, the basic is more than i would earn with overtime at my old rate so i'm happy to compromise
some of the staff are still sitting on their old contracts where they get paid overtime, and do 20 hours a month, but the guys who have gone over to the anualised hours are still taking home more because the basic is greater
some people just don't look at the whole picture and i think about what they can get when they are off sick or on holiday and work out their budgets from there, thinking baout overtime isn't really going to get you a bigger mortgage is it
