Royal Mail hide behind the word `Modernisation`, what they really mean is unprecedented cuts in jobs, services, pay and conditions. Postal workers are facing over 40,000 job losses, major attacks on their pensions and retirement age and continuous attacks aimed at reducing their pay by 25% over the next 4 years.

As far as the public are concerned, we will have less reliable and later deliveries, over 2,000 post offices closures, significantly reduced week day collections and the abolition of Sunday collections. The public will also face the introduction of zonal pricing making you pay more for your postal services depending on where you live, closure of some local delivery offices and closure of some large Mail centres and distribution hubs.
