The other day my girlfriend parked outside her dads house at 7.30pm with her offside mounted on the some grass outside his house - two wheels. (Basically, you've got the path then the grass verge - which is double the size of the path and then you've got the kerb and road.
At 10.00pm when we go to leave, there's a parking ticket on the window saying "62G - Parked with one or more wheels on any part of an urban road other than a carriageway (footway parking) (on grass verge).
The problem I've got is, I've looked in the highway code
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAn...code/DG_069860 and there is nothing about parking on a grass verge being 'illegal' so if it's not in the highway code, how are we (motorists) suppose to know as there were no signpost with restrictions down the road, and no yellow lines
Also how sad is it that these complete wa**ers have nothing better to do on a Friday night at 9.30 than issue a ticket! What sort of prats are they - How can they enjoy what they do is beyond me!
Sorry, rant over
