I don't know nuffink about computers and that kerfuffle so I got a load of what/which/shopper magazines and chose the one that came out at the top or towards the top of all the reviews.

I got an Acer Aspire [gemstone] 7720 as they kept being mentioned. I paid £700 [minus the vat] and the spec was better than alot of the stuff I looked at. 17" screen, loads of buttons and stuff and pretty lights that flash on and off, or sometimes stay on completely!

Apparently the styling was by BMW. So far I haven't found a switch for any indicators so it may be true.
