A SHAKE up of holiday laws will improve working life for millions of people from next month.
A legal loophole will be closed on October 1 meaning stingy employers will no longer be able to include the eight UK public holidays as part of the minimum holiday entitlement.
And the minimum total days off allowed each year will also be boosted for all, seeing a rise of four whole days to make a total of 24, or two days a month, before Bank Holidays, for those working a regular five day week.
By April 1 2009 there will be a second surge taking that total to 28 days off.
