If they are set up right they will sail through the mot test without any adjustment, even on a std ford/wm ecu, certainly on closed loop should be clean as a whistle at idle.
This is a bodge of the highest order, if running that much co normally you are losing power as well as wasting fuel cand causing excess wear.
