Default AMAL valve

Easy one for the MFi guru's,

Recently fitted a gauge to my s1 at it was running sluggish and massively over fueling, found it only boosted at 5psi

Took actuator off due to not being able to wind in on the car, found the threaded rod was too long, chopped a bit of the end, wound the end back on.

the car has the Amal valve fitted with all pipes connected, i though it would work the same as the fiesta one, put the actuator back on and expected to either risen a few psi or to hit the boost limiter.

First go it went right up to 15-16psi and nearly snapped my arm off as i wasn't expecting that, like i said on the fiesta the amal valve just kicks in and the car retards.

Is this chipped or just the car over riding the amal valve??

Anyone else suffered from this?

Cheers.
