As said above, we are probably have the softest police and one of the most lenient judicial system in the world.
I find it funny that many of the people who moan about 'unnecessary force' are the ones getting into trouble themselves (or have done in the past), and then these are the people who moan when there burgulerd or assualted and the police have little power to do anything (due to the weak system.).
It goes without saying that most people who hate the police with a passion, are criminals or ex-criminals themselves.
I think they should have more power in my opinion. If you stay out of trouble and out the way then theres nothing to worry about, and the criminals may think twice about what their doing. Simple really.
People who have had experience of this 'unnecessary force' should not put themselves in this postion to start with.
Fucking bollocks that mate what about arrested on suspicion of aggrevated burglary with a deadly weapon or some shit like that because i was in the area it happened and i got fucking wrestled to the ground and through in the car because i said it wasn't me. Eventually got to the station kept in there more than 24 hours while they did dna, fingerprints etc then finally an interview when i was released about 15 mins after the interview when they actually listened to me and realised.
bunch of ego happy bully victims IMO.
p.s. i still respect every officer who does it, has to be one of the heardest jobs, I couldn't do it myself because of the fucknut by association that comes with every copper so before anyone starts with the "you wouldnt do it " etc then they are right because i am not a prick
Of course theres always going to be exeptions mate, your case as an example, mistaken identity and/or 'in the wrong place at the wrong time' etc. Although if it was your house that was burgled, im sure you'd have wanted the police to question someone in the area at the time who may be a potential suspect.
What that statement was aimed at was the people you see on street crime egging the police on and giving them abuse and asking to be arrested, then resisitng and moaning like a girl cos of the 'heavy handedness' of the police.
Again theres going to be a few exceptions, but im sure 99% of the time if the criminal/suspect doesnt resist and complies, whether guilty or not guilty, then they wont have this 'unnecessary force' used against them.
