Depends what you want to do.

I started uni last year at 26.
Classed as a mature student as I had been 22+ for over 6 months so I am not means tested for the following:

I got £3000 fees loan
I got £3400 ish maintenance loan
I got £2700 GRANT that I dont need to pay back
I got £250 bursary from the university that I dont need to pay back.

Then I got a job after my first full time year and have 3 years part time of my degree left plus 2 years to do my chartership as I am doing a degree in Quantity Surveying.

The job I got is a good salary for a trainee but expect somewhere around the 14-16k mark depending on what you're training in.

If you choose correctly you can choose something at Uni which will allow you to do this- for example choosing an English degree will be POINTLESS.

Other options are teaching options as the gov't is screaming for them.

Hope this helps.

Jake
