what breather system have you got? you will need a 3 port system at anything over stg 1, or you will get masses of crankcase pressure and blowby Also, take it you did a compression test and a cylinder leakdown test before you stripped the engine?

What condition is your turbo in? That can throw a lot of oil through the intake if the seals are worn Also worth checking the turbo oil feed and return, if its sludged up oil will build up in the turbo and get boiled and forced past the seals, making lots of smoke and high oil consumption, and check the oil feed adaptor ( the litttle bit that goes between the turbo and the oil feed pipe) is drilled correctly, again, theese can sometimes be far too small, and not allow enough oil to the turbo and cause rapid bearing and shaft wear.
