from that, it would seem that someone else has banned him, not you, and the finger is being pointed at you
i had a similar experience and found that no matter how much you argue your point, some peole won't want to see things your way as they have already made up their minds
as you say, it won't matter what anyone else thinks so don't let it bother you
you've always come across as a fairly impartial bod and everyone says things they may later regret, it's not like you've accused him of soemthing really heniuos or slandered him or the like so i'm sure someone will reach an amicable colculsion, hopefully jonnhy
