Essex Engine Advantages shoot-out today *PICS*
So we [myself and Ed] made the trip up to Whitam in Essex to the SECs rolling road day, top day, great cars and a load of nice people. Just like to say a big thank you to the organisers, it was good to meet you all + Jano is a top bloke who knows how to explain technical things in a "Paddy" friendly way
I'm hoping those of you that know the owners of the cars below can fill in the blanks for me
The beast was first up out of all the RST's, it was my first ever visit to a rolling road and I had to change my pants twice
pretty pleased with the results seeing as I've got severe crank case pressure issue...
The equipment was way out as I know it's only actually running 4 bhp
Eds MINTY MINT RS wasn't long after me
He forgot that it was a front wheel drive car though
That's actually the cars umbilical cord still attached to mummy Edd:
Ed ran over an old lady on the way there and apparently there was some of her left on the sump:
Sweet RS cab, sorry can't remember power figures [think it was around 170bhp]:
This thing was a wee bit smokey, but the owner said he'd just set it up himself, runninf efi cossie management and I THINK it's a 2.0 zetec. Either way it made a healthy 217 bhp:
Joan Oddkids Mk3
This guy must have been chuffed, he made 299.8 bhp and the wheels were fighting for traction. I must admit I didn't notice under the bonnet but he's got a 200 block which apparently is rather special in a saff???
I think this one was little poorly
Whos said Jap cars were better than Fords? This only made about 260bhp [ONLY
]:
One of the first cars of the day, 1.6 206.
I think people in Essex can't read cos they took no notice of this
Top day and cheers again guys
