Its approximately 1 year now since PassionFord began its "Gold Member" scheme as a way of funding its own existence via you, the members.

As you may be aware, the start of this scheme and its subsequent contributions from you all allowed us to fund and run Passionford using a 20mbps dedicated line and its this support from yourselves that have resulted in 1 years virtually trouble free and very fast performance from your favourite web forum

But that was 12months ago.... and technology moves on....

Last week, Petrucci ordered a 100 MBPs synchronous Turbo DSL line for the server, replacing the 20 Mbps one we had so far (which was already state of the art and amongst the fastest in the world)

Yesterday, he received the new settings for the 100 mbps line, so decided to swap PF lines on Saturday night, as he couldn't wait any longer for his new Toy as sat night is usually the least busy period. That was the downtime experienced last night and also slightly this morning.

Petrucci and I are confident that the gold membership will continue to grow along with the trade membership to keep things flowing as well as they have been so far. Hopefully the new Paypal scheme will keep the bills from Petrucci's door

All you need to know really is PassionFord can handle 5times as much traffic as ever before and as a result it should feel marginally faster too..
