Anything that forces more air through the intercooler has got to be good news, remember to stop any air flow around the cooler as air will always go to the path of least resistance.
If the boost pipe is hot, it will not transfer loads of heat into the air inside as it is a very poor conductor of heat, do you have a vented bonnet ?, as this will help big time keep everything cool.
I see from your details that you are not driving a cossie, what intercooler is it then, I assume a cossie one ?
