Still seems a little cheap to me....
add all the parts onto it- which buying 2nd hand individually wont be a known quantity and you're still talking big money- IE Buy a whole good RST money.
In fact- I can put the lad in touch with my mate who might have the following for sale.
Freshly built never run 1.6cvh- Mild porting, Cam, Arp rod bolts, mahle pistons ap4paddle clutch for a little more than 1k. Be good for 240bhp easy with the correct turbo and set up/chip.
He'll prob throw in an inlet/exhaust manifold too and maybe a std interwarmer- I know he has a mongoose too for £150 ish- I bet he'd do a deal if you bought some bits off him...
Then you need a rad- say £50-£90 for a good one.
Tank - who knows can you get em.
Fuel pumps are £50-100 new.
Turbo?? £200??
Brake lines???
Brake calipers £30 ish- then new good quality discs and pads- £150?
LSD gearbox- 2nd hand unknown £150+
Metering head and lines- £50 upwards and who knows what nick it'll be in.
Then you need hoses for water/boost- might as well buy new ones as at least they'll be fresh and hole free.
Ecus- £100+ chipped
Wiring loom????
Then you've got silly things like anti freeze, fresh oil for the box and engine.
Before you know it your good idea turns into an assortment of parts that dont work well together and a project thats a disaster and worth £500.
Sod it- just buy an RST.
