Then engine should run even without the black ecu. You are just missing all the mixture corrections. If you are unsure if it works, just unplug the electro-magnetic control pressure actuator as flashpoint suggested.
If you have the fuel pump running (override the fuel relay) and you push down the plate and there's no fuel, then something's seriously wrong.
