ok, from the start my car is a 1.3ohv mk escort, it originally run off coil pack and ecu.

i have put my old xr2 engine in the car, which i have attempted to wire up the a coil and the dizzy by myself which i have failed lol.

this is how i wired it up... (ignition module is on top of dizzy looking from front of car)


posetive from coil going to switched posetive battery, fuel cut off solenoid in carb and the pin closest to front of car on dizzy.

middle pin on dizzy going to ground.

negative on coil going to negative battery and to furthest away pin on dizzy.


...engine turns over, but no sign of even trying to fire up, when ignition is on you can hear the fuel cut off solenoid clicking so im sure its getting fuel...bit worried though cos the coil seems to get QUITE HOT when the ignition is on...so scared ive f*ckued up the wiring need help fast had a look in haynes book cant make head or tail out of it.
