The only things I use, other than a few shortened words like "tho" is net abbreviations, the most popular of which you will see on here like;

LOL = Laugh Out Loud (use this for when someone says something funny)
PMSL = Piss My Self Laughing (see above)
ROFL = Roll On Floor Laughing (see above)
ROTFL = as above adding "The"
IDK = I Don't Know
AFAIK = As Far As I know
IIRC = If I Remember Correctly
WTF = What The Fuck

And this smiley --> actually means laughter - as in crying with laughter. Not to use when someone says something sad.

Good Example;

"What do you call a dog with no ears? Anyting you like, he can't hear you"
