IMPORTANT UPDATE
Just had this clarified by my friend and the Ministry.
To be legal on the road you MUST first obtain a DAYLIGHT MOT.
I had never heard of this either!!, but it is an MOT that is conducted on the car with the lights either removed or taped over so that NO lights at all FRONT or REAR can be seen, otherwise you are breaking the law by using it in contravention of your MOT certificate, where of course lights were a tested item, to avoid getting nicked under,
regulation 4(3) ROAD VEHICLE LIGHTING REGULATIONS 1989
You can then legally use it in the hours between sunrise and sunset.
