Micky, when using the Mk4 quadrant the mod won't be of any help in disengaging the clutch any better over the standard Mk4 pedal setup. The cable travel is bigger because of the Mk5 quadrant has a larger diameter. For a strange reason some cars NEED the larger diameter and some don't. When Dave makes up metal quadrants with the small Mk4 diameter a lot of people can't use it.

If you mount a Mk5 quadrant with 10 teeth chopped of the pedal can be adjusted in height with the bolt. The bolt isn't supposed to be tightened up, it's for adjustment. This way you can set the pedal at the exact height you want. Best to set it a tiny bit higher then the brake pedal.
