how many mainstream 'family' cars have come out in the last 20 years that you think look nice? not many i'll bet.

they have to be so many things to so many people that it's rare that they look good as well as perform well in crash tests, have good pedestrian safety, good load capacity, good aerodynamics etc, etc

that is not particularly better or worse than any other box these days imo.
