Std fit coils are crap at the best of times, so get a group a, the difference is enormous.
As said the phase sensor wiring goes brittle and flakes away, later ones with 1 red 1 blue wire much better as got decent insulation.
Nothing to do with CTS.
Could be leads also, Magnecor are very good on these.
