Trust me mate its waterproof! sometimes when i leave the roof off on the kit car, and we get heavy fuckin rain the cover has a pond over my cockpit
still dry inside tho
and besides, ur car wont melt anyway if it get a bit damp lol, they are breathable which is what you want as said above, you dont want it 100% waterproof like plastic
