I had just the same thing last year, some prick on the phone telling me i'd agreed to all sorts. When i denied it he said "well it must have been some one who works for you?" - my reply was i work for myself, on my own.

He then said if i didnt pay, he'd take me to court to recover what he was due..

When i politely explained that i couldnt even afford to pay myself, let alone agree to "sponsor" anyone, and that he was obviously out to scam me, he accused me of being a time wasting bastard and hung up

I then had a about 2 days of prank calls, all from withheld numbers, calling me all the pricks under the sun.

Needless to say, i heard nothing else, but how many big companies fall for it?

Like what chip said, it puts anyone off sponsoring anything, because you always think your being shafted
