Had a call a few weeks back from a group organising sponsership for underprivilaged children.

Basically you get a small advert in a book that goes into schools. No w two places called me and i said no both times. This week both people have called to thank me for my contribution, saying the books have been printed and can they take my details for payment

I explained i had not agreed, to which one played the guilt trip, "well we take verbal agreement, and it's based on trust and you spoke to me and said yes"

Outright lie

The second claimed he had my confirmation letter, i asked what it said, he replied it is in another room, i asked him to fax it to me, he said "oh, it was a verbal agreement, and it's based on trust and you spoke to me and said yes"

I was so pissed of and said he was talking bollocks and asked for the company details and his bosses direct number and he hung up

Either, it is an outright scam, playing on the hopes that business will just not rememeber and pay the £170. or they just try it on to see if you will just pay it up thinking you must have agreed

I have nothing against charities, a but choose who and what I donate to, these shites just got my back up.
