The Red and Blue cannot be interchanged as they will coagulate.

The Blue was designed for old cast-iron engines, like Pintos, Cross-flow, etc... where as the Red was designed for the later alloy-based engines. The CVH has an alloy head and using the Blue antifreeze does everntually cause headgasket erosion around the water ports due to corrosion and around the thermostat housing. I have used the later Ford SuperPlus4 anti-freeze (which is actually compatible with Blue and Red antifreeze due to its composite make-up) and after 3 years, the alloy was still in almost immaculate condition around the thermostat housing When I stripped the engine (after bending some valves @ far too high rpm) the cylinder head water port erosion was almost minimal.

No, antifreeze is not just antifreeze. If it was, then Jap. and some French manufacturers would not have green antifreeze and you would not have to use G12 in VW and Audi cars.
