Default renualt diesel engine woes

one of the guys at work recently bought a megane tin top convertable thingy with the 1.9 deisel engine in it
now, a fe months down the line, it shuddered to a halt after it had one of the return fuel pipes changed
investigations afterwards tend to point to the diesel pump in the stages of packing up as it's shredded the timing belt and is leaking from the rear
so the belts been stripped off, but we don't know if the belt has jumped or if he's bent any valves in the process

the questions then, all answers need to be seperate because of various stages of the engine being fucked or not

how much is a pump calibration, assuming it can be repaired?
how much is a new pump (£500 is what renualt are charging) if it can't?
how much to change the belt?
how much to change some valves (depending on if any are bent in the first place?) figuring that this will be a head gasket change job?

the garage is going to put a new belt on (after first saying that they didn't have the corect locking keys for the engine, does it need them?) and run it up to see how much damage there may be potentially before getting the leaky pump sorted

any ideas?
is this a known fault?
engine/car is just over 3 years old

thankyouplease
