thats cos pulsars are 4wd, if they were fwd they would be equally as shit
223bhp standard is good enough, but a decent 2.1 zvh would be able to crack 230bhp on a very reasonable budget, and wouldnt require all the fabrication
in my opinion i wouldnt bother
and also 'how' it delivers its power is very much down to the mapping of the engine
