They can issue points and a ban, if the court so wish and you were caught doing 200mph they can let you off, 30 mph over does NOT mean a ban, it normally does, but it IS at the discretion of the court.
If within 2 years of passing your test you amass 6 points you are disqalified and have to resit your test, no exceptions.
NO way in hell would a court not ban a newly qualified inexperienced driver for 122mph, they would love to do it, to send a meassage to others that have just passed as this is the age group late teens with the highest accident rate.
