Hello from wet and miserable New Zealand chaps
I'm having some trouble with oil leaking from my newly replaced Cam cover gasket (rocker cover gasket) and also from my, Cam seals, Half Moon seals and O-rings.
In March I had a new T34 fitted along with brand new cam cover gasket, cam seals, half moons and o-rings as they were leaking.
With the new Turbo fitted and the car run up on the dyno with a Norris Motorsport chip roughly written for my 2WD Sapphire, the boost was increased to 26 psi. The fitting instructions that came with the chip reccomended the boost be set to 27 psi peak with Bosch 803 injectors.
The tuner here in New Zealand said I should go more than 26 psi peak as his dyno read-outs were not good above 26psi.
So with the car all set-up I went to my first trackday for the year and had a great day out on the track, no dramas.
The next trackday I went to was a few weeks later and after afew laps and coming into the pits and popping the bonnet I noticed a fair amount (no tonnes) of oil making its way from my cam cover and cams.
Can any of you tell me if this is normal for Sapphires running 26 psi peak boost?.
I want to fix the leaks as it's creating quite a pool of oil on my garage floor... but I don't want to go out and buy another brand new Cometic cam cover gasket, Cam seals etc and have it leak straight away like it has just done.
I do have a Bailey breather system fitted with a hose coming from the top rear of my cam cover.
Any help or advice would be appreciated,
Cheers... Ollie
