well i dont have any probs like that with mine, vista does use alot of memory to run so its probably slow because your hardware isnt up to the job
it was slow for me too and just generally shit is mine up to it?

no your pc is crap

(18:26:05) (@ctx|danneth) (CPU1) AMD Opteron™ Processor 146 @ 2800MHz (DFI Corp,LTD LP NF4 Series mainboard) (RAM) 2GB, 1.44GB free (HDDs) 149GB, 93.2GB free
(18:26:05) (@ctx|danneth) (VGA1) NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX (512MB), 1280x1024x32, @ 120Hz (OS) Microsoft Windows XP Professional (SP2), 2h 1m 57s uptime, 1d 12h 21m 30s uptime record

now i see why you think vista is good
Well what answer did you expect i gave a sensible answer to the post question and you come along "oh look at me with my pc spec"

my point was it was slow and glitchy on my pc too and i know my hardware is more then up to it

Your spec is higher than mine and mine runs vista ultimate with no probs its opens web sites fine and all programs work ok the only prob i did have was with some old drivers that wouldnt work so i cant understand why it didnt work on a more powerfull machine like yours.
