They are an absolute cunt to get out when stuck.

Most people use mole grips or similar to clamp it and pull it out.
You cant twist it as its keyed.

I find that pressure applied by rocking it side to side while pulling it does the trick.
Having said all that, It usually comes out easier after the engine has done
a few miles when its all nice and warm.
