jesus!! If fitting a T5 quickshift phases you then I would put down the spanners and step away from the car

1) take the centre tray off, have to unplug the window switches as well, and there are a few x-head screws holding the trim in. The gaitor is held down by a plastic square ring, held on by 4 nuts- Take them off, and lift the gaitor up, and take off the top half of the gearstick, 2x 13mm bolts I seem to remember.

2) Don't even have to jack the car up, just stick a jack under the box tail, and take the wieght of the box. Drop the 4x13mm nuts off the captive bolts.

3) gently lower the box so you have access to the 4 bolts holding the shifter in from the top of the tunnel. Remove, and replace with the B&M, remembering to pack the joint with grease . Bolt on the B&M until it is nipped up, then make sure you can get all the gears. Adjust until its good, then bolt it in firm, and repeat the removal sequence.

Should take you an hour max, is easy peasy
