yeah u have to as far as im aware, had trouble removing the old shifter from my saph when jim green wanted it, god damn though it would be a 5 minute job.

You just have to loosen the bolts on the gearbox xmember, not remove them.

Just means jacking the car up, bit of a ball ache i know
