Just checked my bank statement online about an hour ago, noticed a weird payment to O2 for £10. I pay my O2 bill monthly, so thought this was strange, so had a wee look back at previous transactions - some thieving coont has been using my debit card details since JANUARY to pay for their mobile phone top up!!!!
They have stolen over £500 out of my account!!!
I never noticed it before, as it's only been £10 a time, and I usually just scan over my statement for any odd looking amounts, so £10 every now and then didnt strike me as unusual, until today when I noticed 4 payments on the same day!!!!
I've now had to cancel my debit card, which is a major hassle as I've just paid for car parts that I need with it today, so now I'm gonna have to call the places back and cancel the order, and pay them with my credit card until I get a new debit card through!!!!
I have to call the bank fraud folk tomorrow who will obviously look into it, and fingers crossed be able to claim it back
This is the second time it's happened to me, some robbing gypo spent £400 at Argos on my credit card last year! Got that back luckily, as it was my credit card, but wonder how successful it will be with my debit card???
