I did it with one of my old 205 GTIs, the beauty of Ebay being the opportunity to describe at length the vehicle and all the faults.

I was totally honest about my car, listing every fault (the engine and running gear was mint, but the body was shot), put it on with no reserve etc, and ended up getting £150 more than I paid for it.
