Default Changing the rear Springs on ECossy

Is there an easier way of changing the rear springs other than what it says in the workshop manual and that is to undo the 3 bolts from the front of the trailing arm or what ever it's called and undoing the driveshaft from the hub???

By undoing the trailing arm bolts won't you upset the set up of the car??

Surely there must be an easier way

Also, do I need to cut down my bump stops on the rear if I am dropping it by 25mm??
