Stupid idea. If you want to extract every last hp. then ok. But we're not racing, we're doing it for fun, and i prefer reliability than +3hp.

Well, we often see car's where the customer has gone to great lengths to heatproof everything and generally on car's like that you can expect EGT's to be considerably higher. It really is a fine-balance. I am fairly sure that my manifold won't be wrapped, but I will use heat-proofing materials to protect the area's close to this major heat-source.
