I know that there are some of these cheapy ebay things out there that actually DO work. (ie they arent just a crappy resistor mod thing)

anyone got any first hand experience of them?

Just picked up an audi as replacement to my "cheap and cheerful i dont care if it gets crashed into stress free daily driver" (which got crashed into, lol) and wouldnt mind a little more poke if its that simple but im not bothered enough to start messing around in any more depth than that as it will spend most of its life stuck in traffic or cruising down the motorway anyway which is does fine already.
