So say they get out 10 days early. That's £100 they have. Is it a full payment? If so, that £100 would be spent by the majority of crims on beer and drugs 1st night out. Day 2: skint again. It's free money as their circumstances will not have changed whether they do an extra week/month in prison or not.

PLUS: If someone does their full term, they come out with nothing & have to start earning/ benefit claiming from scratch that day..why should it be any different if someone comes out early?
