Default help non ford

Has anyone any experience with Subarus, as I am keeping my cossie for weekend fun, but want to change my 1996 RS2000 daily driver for something more up to date, nothing in the ford range interests me I have had fords for 22 years and fancy a change, I looked at Imprezas and test drove a 2002 V7 sti I loved it and the insurance is a lot better than I thought. I have a dilema as in my price bracket can have a 2002 v7 sti or a 2003 blob eye WRX, as a daily driver would the WRX be a better buy and would it be better on fuel than an sti, as I have never drove a WRX would it be a disapointment after driving the sti. I am looking at a sti in the morning but have a WRX lined up to look at next, but my main concern is that the sti will be a lot more expensive to run and maintain, anyone with any advice please let me know, I no scoobs are not popular with ford owners but after driving one I know that the cossie is good, but the 20 years of development has done a lot for handling and it drove very well it had minimal lag and launched very well. Any advice welcomed

Thanks
Darren
