There is a road near/ish lakenheath that claimed 9 lives in one year from accidents, all bar 1 was american, the 1 english one was in a car being driven by an american(who died).
I think you will like it here it could be a lot worse, to be honest, Swaffham is a lovely little market town, NORWICH is well worth visiting too.
Good luck with the move, my dad and I managed to lift my HONDA CY50E onto the back of a 4 toner, at Colchester(1/4's) so you should be ok.

when i drove up last week i went m4,m25,m11 and a10 i passed lakenheath on the left and i thought to myself how nice there set up looked inside the wire
.including the HUGE golf course i seen
when i went and collected my moped from salisbury a few years ago i fitted it in my citroen xantia i had at the time and lifted it in alone!!.
i witnessed americans everywhere near lakenheath and didnt witness any bad driving despite it being lunch time.
where abouts do you live?
